Es una brevedad poética que combina el haiku con el número π (pi).
Mientras que el haiku es un terceto con la estructura silábica 5–7–5 (es decir, el primer verso tiene 5 sílabas; el segundo, 7, y el tercero, de nuevo 5), el piku, que también es un terceto, cuenta con una exigencia más: sus palabras deben tener un número de letras igual a la cifra decimal correspondiente de pi (3,141592653589…)
