Sands Macao is a hotel casino resort that sits right next to the Zhujiang River Estuary and across the street from the Fisherman’s Wharf. Some of the suites at Sands Macao offer incredible waterfront views.
At Sands Macao, you will find 289 suites and 229,000 square feet of gaming space.
History
Sands Macao cost $240 million to build and was opened to the public on May 18, 2004. It originally had a casino floor that was 165,000 square feet, but it was expanded to 229,000 square feet in 2006. This casino resort was developed by and is currently owned and operated by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation.

Attractions & Entertainment
Sands Macao offers six places to dine at, ranging from upscale to fast food. This includes a buffet with Chinese and South East Asian cuisine.
You can splash around in the outdoor heated pool on the 6th floor of the hotel, or enjoy a drink at the poolside bar.
There is also a spa and salon in the building, where you can enjoy a massage, a manicure or pedicure, the machines at their fitness center, hair styling services, the Jacuzzi, the pool, the steam room, and the sauna.
You have many different shows to choose from at Sands Macao. Several resident shows include: Baby Dolls, Baccarat Babes, Salsa Sensation, and Colombian All Stars.
There is a bar at Sands Macao called Xanadu Lounge where you can enjoy food and drinks while watching local and international performers on the stage. If you want to enjoy a full-fledged slow, you can head over to Sands Theatre, where a wide variety of shows take place: contemporary bands, singing troupes, modern performances, Chinese costumed performers, and even internationally renowned singers, performers, and artists.
Why Sands Macao Gets 2 Stars
There are very limited options at Sands Macao when it comes to lodging and gambling. The hotel can easily get crowded or sold out due to the low count of hotel rooms (289), and despite the large size of the casino floor, they do not offer much. There are no poker tables, craps tables, or video poker machines.
Even though Sands Macao offers a handful of shows at all times, they are mostly free shows rather than headliner performances.
That being said, the casino announced in late 2014 that they were going to update the casino floor to include more games and entertainment options.
